Possible Territory(ies) is the name of a project conceived to allow three exhibitions to physically coexist simultaneously. The central theme guiding the reflection on this curatorial project featuring three artists—Pamela Gonzalez, Luis Maria Lontoya, and Diego Gelatti—revolves around the notion of territory or territoriality, aiming to highlight and elevate the idea that the artists, along with the gallery, belong to the town of Tafí Viejo. The project considers art as a cartography that seeks to redraw strategies of refuge and foster the potential of a "local scene"—crucial and necessary aspects to support through various policies, particularly within a local scene that is completely exhausted and offers few opportunities for emerging (or not so emerging) young art. The first exhibition, titled “Because I am no longer myself, nor is my body my body anymore,” is by the artist Pamela González and addresses the theme of motherhood from a critical perspective. The artist questions how to construct new worlds where the domestic is also political, where mothering is not an activity that excludes other roles as a woman. The second part, titled “Immanence,” is by the artist Luis María Lontoya, and presents a dialogue that diagnoses the only visible sign of becoming: death. The third part, by Diego Gelatti, is titled “Instructions on How to Turn Off the Light,” and the artist begins with the premise “about what darkness reveals.” The exhibition was curated by Rocío Rivadeneyra from October 2020 to March 2021.
